Since the GMG CAI project is probably dead, I came accross this on another board - wonder if this really produces any gains? Gruppe makes good products but their too expensive IMHO.<ul><li><a href="https://www.gruppem.co.jp/onlinestore_en/index.php?main_page=product_info&amp;cPath=1_4&amp;product s_id=540">INTAKE</a></li></ul>

I fail to see how this is any better than stock.

Champion Motorsport kept the stock airbox for a reason in the vitesse RS4.

There is a dyno posted in that link as well that shows tq and hp increase.

Either works properly or gives a noticeable gain over the stock Audi air intake system.

This is true of all the so call "better" CAI systems available for the 1.8T or on the V8 4.2L engines in the S4 and I would also conclude for the RS4's motor.

The minimal gains shown on that dyno could just be the difference in when and how the car was dyno'd that day.

The Carbonio CAI system for the 1.8T was shown to give me in data testing very little if any increase in MAF sensor air flow. However when I had the system on I blew 3 brand new MAFs with it. Prior to installing it, I had never blown a MAF on any 1.8T and after the removal (last summer) I haven't blown a MAF.

IIRC, Champion's fully modified race prepped RS4 uses Audi's original air intake. If after spending that much money getting the car race prepped, I surely think if a better solution was available they would have used it.

If you want your RS4 to be faster, I suggest you take that $1200 and put it towards a better suspension for it. All show and no go, that is the question!
