It took a while to get it right as there isn't much range of adjustment, if at all. I torqued down the rod bolt as much as I could without stripping it but I'm wondering if that bolt will ever loosen up. It seems like there could be more of a failsafe design than that. I drove it around last night on the back roads pretty aggressively and it feels great, very solid and snick snick feeling. Someone here said 'rifle bolt action' which is pretty indicative of how it feels.

I'm having thoughts of that bolt letting go and getting stuck in one gear during rush hour traffic on the freeway. OH GAWD WHAT ANXIETY...!!! ;)

If anybody has had problems with it please speak up.

Use Loctite, it is specifically for fasteners when a lock nut is NOT used. Get it at a good hardware store, put 1 or 2 drops on the thread at the nut.

It would be kinda tough to add loctite on the shift rod bolt since it takes a while to find the sweet spot.

specifically the one where it shows him using an angle gauge to adjust the shifter to a 6 speed tranny the the shifter shaft is completely straight. My JHM shifter has a bend in it toward the driver so I didn't use the angle gauge for that adjustment but rather just the lateral adjustment.
