with a $40K market adjustment. More than I paid for my TT.

Of course, precentagewise, the M3 is the bigger offender here.

last car I had on order same thing happened to me for a Mercedes CLK Black. I had a deal at MSRP and when it hit the port the called me to say the mark up will be 30k. Needless to say next day I was at the Audi dealer! 3 months later dealer sold the same car for $8800 under msrp. Fools!!!

...maybe the dealer is marketing the M3 as a sort of high performance mobile home. you can live in your car, but you can't drive a house.

Hate to say it, but I'm picking up a coupe and sedan today to flip. Did a Phantom DHC this week also for 135k over.

Please tell me you're not actually considering this?

I have no problems with anyone wanting an M3, but that's insane.

For those who thought they be picking up their new one at MSRP, good luck on that one, better just keep on dreaming, cause a dream is all it's been. The debut of the E46 M3 fixed that one for me with the upcharge of $5k and $10k over MSRP. I'll never trust BMW again on a first-year model. Oh yeah, the price will come down soon enough, pity the fool who pays the upcharge only to see his/her first year depreciation be about a third of the price of the car.

a truly free marketplace is a two-way street...both the buyer AND the seller have an opportunity to get the best deal they can get.

buy for $95k now, sell a year later for $60k...great resale value!

the people who actually pay those market adjustments probably don't even look at the price, nor do they even know how much it's supposed to cost.

obviously rumor of these 'market adjustments' becomes widespread. so anyone 'lucky' enough to find one at MSRP jumps at the chance, and doesn't even bother to negotiate. meanwhile, BMW and the dealership are still making a pretty handsome profit by selling the car at MSRP. sneaky bastards.

I got one of the first in the US and they gave me $500 off MSRP. I think the supply vs demand situation has been just about perfect for both buyers and sellers of the RS4.

popular:)

If somebody wants the newest toy and so does everyone else, then it is totally reasonable to expect the market to reflect demand. After all, if the dealer won't mark it up, you darned well the average yob who picks up one of the first cars will flip it.

For some reason, I can't see where the market adjustment value is in this picture.

depend on octane requirement in addition to gas milage. What is the requirement for the M3?
