Went to check one out yesterday and have some thoughts. Great drive, it has adequate HP, great handling, good transmission and mid-engine. A few big issues are keeping me from being in love however.
1. the engine is completely inaccessible. i like to tinker once in awhile, but the only way to access this engine is from a hoist. $ to porsche.
2. no bluetooth. they have some inane system of inserting your SIM card (if you happen to have a GSM phone) and using the car as the phone. unbelievable.
3. your own music needs to be on cd's. no ipod, iphone connector, no sd cards, nothing.

Their excuse is that these things ruin the driving experience, which is totaly preposterous. I don't track the car 100% of the time, i actually go to work, take trips, go to the grocery store, pick up friends, drive the woman around and 95% of the time i would like these features. I can't with all my good senses buy a car with these shortcomings. Whew, enough of a diatribe for a wednesday morning :)

and the thing about it (BT in particular) is that people just don't know what they're missing without it.

but personally I wouldn't buy a porsche then if they don't offer those modern conveniences. My RS4 has gone done spoiled me rotten.

Tooki

And then you need to fork over another $960 to have the SIM card function in the nav system, and then another $750 for this bluetooth setup by Tooki. That's just crazy talk. BTW, if you want to have a telephone handset attached to the nav system, it's another 900 bucks or so. Very sexy, as per the pics don't u think :) All this could be solved with bluetooth. Those engineers in Stuttgart perhaps need to upgrade their skills, the nineties are over.
Reminds me of Gordon Gekko talking on his state of the art brick to motivate Budd Fox.
