A friend of mine has it for sale and let me test drive it. The car is fast sure footed and very comfortable. I could not get over how well the car handled the rough colorado roads while still riding fairly flat. My car feels like a bob cat compared to an RS4! The car sounded awesome, it had milltek valved exhaust, which you could barely tell the difference between the Smode on or off. The car is fast, I did not push it anywhere close to its limits, but could tell its definately a drivers car. It definately makes a better daily driver than a 7 year old B5 S4. I am still not sure I want to drive a 70+k car as a daily driver, but this car sure has me tempted. And yes... I still wish it had turbos.

If you look at the price of the car when it was new, plus all your mods and labor costs, it will total to about $70,000.

and that was what pushed me to spring for the RS4. You can buy a used S4 and hop it up to RS4 levels, but in the end you just have a modded S4. Not that this is a bad thing, it's just the reality of mods. You have to be willing to pay the price. (the mod bug is tough to fight).
Of course, for 99% of people, the stock S4 offers all you would ever need.

to name a few. Nothing BAD about the car... just that it's almost TOO nice to risk getting a scratch/dent/bent rim.
That's how I see it anyway. My car's nowhere near as nice as a B7 RS4, but I still cringe every time I hear a rock hit the windshield/hood/bumper.

Plus you'll lose weight when you park far away from the soccer moms at the mall and walk that extra distance. Think of all the health benefits. More exercise and less money to spend on other bad habits.

Don't spend that much money on the car if you can't afford to replace it if you were to be in a serious accident. While a car is an emotional piece of our lives, we cannot treat it as valuable as our own life. It's a car, not a human.

in 01' before my 4.2. The S4 was to small for the family.

It's just the thought of a beautiful piece of art becoming flawed.
I would never value a car over a life, that's silly. I'm not sure where you got that from?

that was at LACR, too, running 8.4@84mph 1/8 mile times on the way to the 13.1 @ 104.
Down here in San Diego, I run 8.0-8.1 @ 86-87mph with the same setup, so it should theoretically be a 12s car. I really need intercoolers though :(
I just put my StopTechs on, so now it can actually stop respectably too :)

A car that is so capable and just SOOOOOOOO much fun to drive. And yet, it is a special, limited production, almost collector level vehicle. I understand completely. I have decided to go middle ground. i don't drive it every day or in really crappy weather but it is certainly no garage queen either. To put it in perspective, I have 5400 miles in 8 months of ownership. I live only 7 miles from work, so that is a big part of the lower mileage.

and soon you'll start doing all kinds of crazy sh1t, like not changing the oil for 10k miles.
