The article doesn't say it's a 2008 model that will have this, it says that it will be sometime in 2008, meaning maybe the production will begin that year.

Whether or not this is true is another thing, but I think you're not reading this literally enough.

i am merely passing along a URL, not interpreting.

lol.. Meaning I was rebutting his staunch NO. I am open to the possibility, although I acknowledge it's extraordinarily unlikely.

Parsing 2008 to mean model year doesn't add up if you read the fine print of the link.

If I remember correctly, the "RS6 Plus" had 480hp and only about 1000 examples were built worldwide.

An "RS4 Plus" with 450hp would be the B7's true swan song ushering in the B8 and would be a very plausible direction for Audi to go to, not only to compete with the new M3 and C63 by offsetting what will be lagging sales figures for the RS4 by next year, but also to make a compelling upgrade for the initial RS4 owners like ourselves, who by then have had the cars for 2 very satisfied years. Of the course it would be the same engine that will be found in the RS5.

Audi has stopped production of right-hand drive RS4 sedans (not Avant and not Cabriolet) to make room for the RS6 sedan on the Quattro GmbH assembly lines. The RS4 sedan in left-hand drive form continues as a MY 2008 for the rest of the world including the US. Production is likely to stop in the spring of 2008 for the B7.

As to the rumored 450 HP RS4, it is likely to be the B8 which must already be in development stages given the new chassis is almost ready for introduction in A4 and S4 form as of next spring.

insult current owners/those who have already ordered, but not out of the question.
