Spoke to tech when picked up my car today.
Audi is modifying the flap motors, and apparently they should be shipping in a month.
What he has heard is that the lubricant in the motors is shorting out the circuit boards.
This is what he has heard and cannot say for certain if this is whats happening.
There wont be a recall, but he assumes audi will advise all their dealerships to retrofit the new motors when a customer brings in their cars for service, or has a problem. It seems I was not the only one at the dealership that had the problem. So, I have to keep top up for at least a month.

Is Audi going to compensate us for this? My tops been broken 3 times now .. and this time they're saying that it can't be fixed for a month? That's a bit ridiculous.. 5500 miles only on the car..

I have a great service rep (too bad I never pick up the house phone and probably missed Audi's service satisfaction survey call). Without any urging other than maybe an uncontrolled look of annoyance on my face, she contacted Audi and negotiated with them to send me a check to cover a month's payment. This was during my second trip in for the top. The car has spent about a month in the shop in total for the top (three occurrences of malfuntion and five trips to address them).
