I'm uneducated in this area. I'm interested in any particular mechanical issues, installation issues? Also, could one install one of these without calling into question all sorts of other parts of the car regarding warranty. I know the default answer to this is it'll void ALMOST EVERYTHING but I'm curious what the reasonable level would be.

I miss quattro . . .

the tranny must come out and come apart. the diff sits in the center. install and/or other things are not a big deal other than getting the rivets out of the ring gear

as far as drivng, being able to turn the wheel full at a light and nail it is pretty damn cool!!! front end hooks up and yanks hard in the direction pointed. power out of corners is of course great too. negative is powering out of wet corners. you now get on the gas and one wheel spins. the other wheel is just rolling along but actually helping you make the corner by tracking the front of hte car in the direction pointed. with an LSD, the wheels spin while turning and the no longer makes the corner since neither front wheel is helping the car steer any longer. car just goes straight. but it's easy to fix..........just don't floor it around a corner in the wet.
