the Quattro 2.0T will be here by next September/October.

the Quattro 2.0T is gonna be slightly more powerful than the FWD version, and it shall be offered in 6mt and S-Tronic.

the S will also likely be offered in both transmissions....

the 2.0T TT is already available with a 6mt in other countries (Germany, UK, etc..)

cheers! :)

RIGHT NOW there is no 6mt in the 2.0T...in the USA.

outside the USA, it's available even in FWD, and with the Quattro arriving it will be available here as well...

I've heard this time and time AGAIN from the mouths of people within AoA such as Christian Bokich, who I tend to trust quite a bit.

a 2.0T 6MT FWD already exists in the world. there is no denying that. if i move to the UK today, i can buy one tomorrow...why it hasn't come to the US market is probably answered by your boy over at AOA....most likely a desired launch simplicity for the MK2.

Bringing alternative transmissions to a lineup isn't a big deal, it's basically about demand. When the MK1 was launched, it was a 180 5mt. By the time the MK1 ended production, the 180 was ONLY available in Automatic.

It's a matter of updated information though. It's possible they changed their minds, however in late October/early November; i was told about the variations of the TT arriving here to the USA. A 2.0T Quattro 6mt was told to me as one of the cars coming in September/October of next year. Whether that's changed since i heard it...maybe you are right if it has changed. But that WAS the plan....

It isn't as easy as slapping a transmission in a car and saying here you go. Not only would Audi have to federalize the 2.0T DSG Quattro, but also a manual version of the car.

The 3.2 w/ 6MT was federalized in the R32, and the 3.2 w/ DSG in the MK1 TT.

It just doesn't make sense financially as we aren't talking hundreds of thousands here...we're talking millions. Those costs would never be recovered.

which brings me back to my point! if there is demand for a transmission, it WILL be brought here....companies like Audi, VW, BMW, whomever...spend the money when they find a market for something.

Whether they bring the 2.0T Quattro 6mt to the US is not a matter of $$ to get it federalized...it's a matter of whether it makes SENSE at all to do so or not.....

i'm right! and in celebration of this, i'm going to sleep ;P

How many A3s and TTs do they sell a year to start with? Very few compared to other models. Of those they do sell, how many are going to be manuals? Even less. Tell me again how spending millions of dollars to federalize one specific powertrain that won't be popular to begin with makes any financial sense at all?

What you are telling me is that money has nothing to do with it and they are just out to give YOU what you want so long as you are happy, costs be damned! Well boy, I'm glad you cleared that up for me.

All along I thought Audi was a business and everything they do was in an effort to make profit margins bigger. That is, after all, what businesses do...make money, and make good decisions to help them accomplish that. Good businesses anyway...

You are wrong, but if you want to have the last word to make your weenus feel more adequate, go right ahead. For some bedtime reading though, I might suggest this for you:

Hell, for $15, I'll buy it for you myself if it keeps you from posting this nonsense.

http://www.amazon.com/Economics-Dummies-Sean-Masaki-Flynn/dp/0764557262</a

and i gather you don't have much natural ability to interpret sentences do you? haha.

i didn't say that these costs don't matter, but it's not as if the whole car needs to be federalized from scratch. you do know that cars use other/similiar cars for federalization don't you? It's VERY common. I hope you aren't under the impression that your sophomore college economics class and a transient conversation with some Audi people has taught you how this all works.

might i suggest a better hobby for you than to discuss cars?

By the way, my dealings with people inside of Audi are a bit more than "transient".

...he owned a nice, very unique TT.

I also recall he's a very accurate source for information in the auto industry as a whole, not just Audi. I mean, that IS why he's on TV every once in a while, right? ;)

any where in the world whether it is the TT or the A3.
The A3 however, does come with the 2.0T with Quattro with a manual tranny.
This could be easily put into the TT, and more cost effective than the S-Tronic..
We will see.

Otherwise we would all be like you...citing what your mothers brother's uncle's friend's cousin said about the TT.

Guess I'll take your advice though and never cite sources in any articles I write. I'd rather be cool like you than credible. Can you teach me?

Have we met? Do you know ANYTHING about me outside of what you see in these forums? Didn't think so.

By the way, do you always laugh at your own "jokes"?
