and loved it! I was a little skeptical about the 250 hp since my old R32 had virtually the same engine. I currently drive a 2006 A4 3.2 6spd. The TT is definately much more sportier. I got to truly test the haldex quattro out since it was raining! Car stuck like glue. The TT felt very nimble and quicker than the R32. The only downside is I am upside down a little over $3k (8 months left on my A4 lease). I do have a question for those who have leased or purchased this vehicle. First off the car had every option except magnetic ride and s-line. Sticker was $48K and they would take $1k off. 36 mths, 15K and startup costs came to $812 a month. That sounded ridiculously high to me. My brother is leasing a 2008 535xi with a sticker of $59K for less than that with only $2,500 out of pocket. Why is the TT so expensive to lease? I may have to get a 335 or 1 series instead. I'd like to stay with Audi but not for that number!

AFS, apparently, no longer offers great lease deals. BMW, on the other hand, seems to have taken this spot and is offering very nice programs.
IMHO, the TT is not selling as well as AoA planned, so the residuals have suffered. They have tried to compensate by lowering money factors, but that's all they've done: compensate. You end up paying the same as when the car first came out months ago, if not more.
That being said, if you haggle a little and do it nicely (nobody sells crap to an arse), most dealerships will give you 5% off MSRP, which, in your case, would have been $2,400. Not like that will change the deal a lot, but it's better than the $1K discount you were offered (a joke at this point).
Bottom line is if you're looking at both Audi and BMW and are concerned about getting a good deal, you should consider leaving the Audi family. Many have had to and Audi seems to be OK with that.

... what you were being offered. It's all part of the old trick the customer into believing he's gotten the deal of a lifetime game.
Not like it doesn't work, mind you. Playing that game and pretending I believed them, I got my last car $12K+ off MSRP.

I did this with a spreadsheet I made for figuring out a TT lease. I guessed at the residual value, since I'm not exactly sure how much they reduce it for 15k miles per year.
Lease term 36
Miles per year 10,000
MSRP $48,000.00
Negotiated Price $46,500.00
Money Factor 0.00109
Interest Rate 2.62%
Base residual 53%
Added residual for Audicare 1%
Added residual for 10k miles -2%
Residual 52%
Downpayment $2,500
Net Capitalized Cost $44,000.00
Residual value $24,960.00
Total Depreciaton $19,040.00
Depreciation payment $528.89
Cap Cost + Residual $68,960.00
Money Factor payment $75.17
Pretax lease payment $604.06
Sales tax 8.25%
Tax $49.83
Lease payment $653.89

Thanks, that is more along the lines of what I was thinking. Only problem is I need more than 10K per year. I drive between 12-15K per year.

i've heard of some on the forum not having a problem trading in their lease early cause they are going into a new Audi, and that Audi will wave the buyout to put you in the new one. obviously every dealer is different but it sounds like a good argument.

I tried a new dealer yesterday to see how bad they want my business. You would think they would want to snatch me up from their competition. After the offer they made me yesterday I wasn't impressed at all. My dealer lease buyout is around $30,500 and they offered me $26.5 for the car. I'd like to get at least $28 for the car or completely bought out of the lease. I'm dreaming, right? ha. My A4 has low mileage and is kind of unique in that it is a 6spd 3.2. Wonder if there is any market appeal because of it. All I can think about is the TT! I know if I don't do something now I may end up getting a BMW 1 or 3 series or even worse a GTI!

where it says "Added residual for 10k miles per year" I put it -2%, which is what I predict would be the penalty for 15k per year.

my Q7 is in for service and i requested a 2008 TT loaner. i currently have a 2001 TT 225 chipped and it's pretty quick, but this new TT (they gave me the 3.2 DSG) is slick and smooth and fast as hell. i am very impressed and really want to get one. i've only had the Q7 for only 8 months but i would consider selling my TT and trading in the Q7 for a new TT, only i would be screwed on the Q7 lease turn in. i imagine i would have to wait until i have at least 1 year left to work something out.
my dealer actually gives out Q7, A3, A4, A6, and this TT is a dealer demo but they are letting me use it as a loaner.

build quality surveys... as far as money factors go (those are the only two variables that really matter, in terms of lease rates), that's just a matter of supply and demand... in 6 mos or a year, when demand subsides, the opportunity costs will plummet.
