I can't stand Sirius it's been a few days and I need to go back to XM and I would rather not have to install a small XM receiver into the car. Not sure if there is a way I can change out the Sirius for XM. I am doubting it but I figured I would ask.

I traded my XM with a guy on here who had sirius back 2 years ago. you Unplug, Plug, activate, play. that easy

What am I unplugging the antenna? Do I just need an XM antenna, and replace the sirus antenna with it? I wasn't sure if it was inside the navi unit itself?

from the nav or radio unit. In my A4 it's in the trunk, maybe the same for the TT's. the XM and sirius tuners look the same, so its an easy swap.

TTraveler -

On a previous thread you indicated that you have headlight washers - I can't find them listed on the TT equipment list anywhere (standard or option) except if you have a Canadian vehicle. Are you Canadian? If not, what packages did you get on your car? (I'm trying to figure out what to expect when I get mine in September) Thanks!

find someone on here that wants what you have, then swap. Myself and many others have done the exact thing.

Thanks - I got a coupe with similar equipment - I'll probably have them too. Are you Canadian?

I am going to contact my dealer in the morning just to make sure it will fit/work as well to find out where in the car it is.

I'll let everyone know how it goes.

If you have NavPlus or TPMS (which I think is standard on the TT) you will need a specific version. Also for 2007.5 cars (and presumably the TT since it's an '08) the newer Sirius units have a single antenna connector, so you might need a splitter to hook up to an older XM box's dual antenna inputs.

Scroll down to the "Accessories\SAT RADIO receivers" section in the link below for details.

http://www.navplus.us/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2</a

Nope, not Canadian, I think it may by part of the Xenon option?

I asked the question to get the direct answer from them to make sure of the exact unit I need and possible other equipment, splitter, etc.

I don't even know where the thing is in the car yet!!

I think it's supposed to be somewhere under the carpet in the rear where the spare and jack would be if the TT came with them. I haven't seen the hatch in person, but my guess from the above pic is that on a coupe you'd find it down in that rectangular cutout on left that's holding the white rope and straps. No idea on a roadster.

I'll pull up the carpet in the back of the roadster tomorrow. If it is in the trunk I'll be a very happy person.

Reviving an old thread... the photo in the link is dead:(. I have an Audi XM rec from my A4 and i want to pop it into my wifes new TT roadster. Where do i find the factory location for the rec? From this thread it sounds like it is in the trunk? If so, so i jsut pull up the side panel in the trunk on the left side? (same location as the a4)?
thx
