lately. Yesterday, i sat in the beemer at a local dealership and just couldn't handle the fact that the interior svcked so much.
Here's my take on the 335i:
Pros:
1) sleek exterior styling, aggressive front end 2) Very powerful motor performance comparable to the S4 and even M3's from what I hear.
3) High residual which equates to good lease numbers
Cons:
1) The fugliest interior I have ever been in
2) Rear wheel drive. With all that power, it must be easy to spin out of control in that thing
3) one on every corner (328 & 335)
Those that have considered this car, do you agree with my comments or do you have anything to add to assist me in my decision.
What route would you take?

On your pro's
1) exterior styling is subjective but I think the 335i Coupe is the least bad of the bangle designs.
2)335 will run 4.8 to 60 and is around the same level of quickness of the old M3.
3)Residuals and Leases are in fact very good on the car
On the Con's
1) The interior is pretty bad and "cold" IMO. Even worse when compared to the TT.
2) RWD is not something that will throw you off the road. The car handles well. You dont need to worry about loosing the car due to power. Of course, dont drive like an idiot and have a little lighter of a foot in the rain, but it will be fine.
3) I highly agree on seeing them ever where.
Other thing to take into consideration...the 335i has already developed a track record for overheating issues. Since your looking Stronic on the TT you might be looking tip on the 335i. The Auto's especially have a recall out for additional cooling that is needed.
My mother has a 335i Convert. I drove it in a spirited manor for about 15 min and the oil was at 275 and climbing. The turbo situation is not a good one and IMO while it has the chance to be a tuneable monster, it also is going to have long run issues, that of a B5 S4 IMO.
At the end of the day its your choice. I thought about the 335i for a minute...but not much more.

Don't forget you get 2 extra usable seats with the Bimmer, in case you need those.
Also, you can get a manual, which you can't with the TT 2.0 (I saw in your other thread that this is your engine of choice). If you were to upgrade (and I use this term loosely) to the 3.2, you're also in quattro territory, which the BMW does not offer.
I agree about the new 3-Series interior. Disgusting, boring, cold and uninviting. However, did you actually drive it? It's an amazing machine. Most will agree (maybe not in this forum) that it outhandles the TT.
But yes, although the 3-Series coupe is not nearly as common as the sedan (and thank God they look very different), it is more common than the TT, so that's indeed another factor to consider.
Like everything else, it comes down to personal needs and preferences.
You won't be making the wrong choice either way you go. Just make sure you let your heart dictate or you will regret your decision sooner or later.

but not in the 335, you'd have to go "down" to the 328ix.
I'm considering the TT 3.2 Q and the 328ix. It's tough style over engineering. Pricing is comparable. So the finance guy in me starts thinking resale. I had a 328 a while back and loved it. Had more than it's share of problems, but the dealer delivered another BMW (comparable or better), took mine, fixed it and brought it back.
I do remember driving the first version and grinning ear to ear, then slapping down a deposit. Eventually got something else (that i kept for only a year). So im hoping driving both of them will make the decision obvious.
But when your talking BMW and and Audi at the same price .....

That way you will have the best 4 and 6 Cylinder engines available right now. Buy the 335i Coupe now and get a 2.0T TTQ with manual when Audi FINALLY releases it in Fall, 2008 as a MY 2009.

I just turned in my 04 A6 2.7T S-line and got the 335i Sedan.
With the Sports Pkg. & Premium Pkg. this car is
a beast. Not only is it tighter and better performance wise, I find the interior beautiful.
(Having driven Audi's for the last 8 years the 335i interior is a welcome change.)
BMW without a doubt just FEELS like a better made machine.
NUFF SAID.

People dont cross shop an A6 to a 335i They Cross shop the 5 series. And if your looking at a 335i you might also be looking at an A4/S4 in Sedan Form or A5/S5 in coupe form...maybe even a TT like some here.
However...
The old A6 was bigger, heavier, its 4 years dated, (new body style since then). So yes it should "be tighter and better" and cost less, considering you went from a Mid Size Sedan to a smaller entry level size one. Your not telling us anything that isn't a "given" already.
I wouldnt say the interior is beautiful, its just, as you call it, diffrent then what you are use to. Which is just the grass is greener perception. Do I believe you really "love" the cold non emotion-evoking 335i interior with the iDrive nightmare....without knowing you, I cannot say for sure, but I can say with confidence you wont say "I dislike the interior in the car I just bought", you still need to stroke your ego and comfort yourself on your purchse...and thats ok. Enjoy your car.

... even though their design still sucks IMO, their materials are up to Audi standards and feel.
