$0 down $875 due at signing
36 month lease
10k per year
$599 per month
Question is, do you think I can negotiate those payments down to $550 per month (or better)? My mom might be picking up a base model Jetta from the same dealership so I will use that as leverage when speaking to my salesman.

it says 0 down then 875 due at signing.
What is MSRP as is?
Let me crunch some numbers...

I assume this is a coupe since you did not mention anything about convertible. This car would MSRP for $41,225.
Even if you weren't able to negotiate the tiniest drop in the price and were paying MSRP for it, the latest AoA captive lease program (as of 7/8/07 it's .00109 money factor and 57% residual) calls for $564+tax for 36 months, 10K miles/year, $0 down.
If you work it right, you can get up to 5% off MSRP on this car (who knows, maybe even better). That being the case, your payment using this same program (which they are also probably not honoring where you're going) would be $504+tax, almost $100 less than what they're offering you.
Back out N*O*W.
Good luck!

I just looked at the numbers...
There are special money factors right now, and standard residual on 36 months is 54% plus you get +3% more for only 10K a year.
You can also get some off of sticker....
And your payments should be low 500's at worst.
It looks like they are trying to sell you the car for sticker on the old money factor.
....you have a choice, sit down and argue with them about this. Or just call the dealer and say...no more then 510 or what not a month...or my mother and I will take it to another dealer where we know we can get some off of sticker and also get the current promotional money factors for July on 57% residual.
...thatll wake them up.

Sorry to barge into this the thread, but I just got some numbers from the dealer on a 2008 TT 3.2 Q 6spd roadster. The residual and money factor they gave me were 52% and .00239 respectively. Where are you getting your numbers? Do they apply to the 2008 models? I will be ordering one so I don't know if that would affect the pricing/negotions. Help??
