I don't believe the owners manual answers this question. At what mileage have you started to take the revs over 4000rpm?

That doesn't mean go bang off the rev limiter every chance you get, but don't be shy with it either. I've used this with the two VR6s I've owned previously and every other car that I've bought new. None have had any engine issues whatsoever, none have had any of the oil consumption issues, and all have given great mpg figures.

...just drive it. Dont ABUSE IT. But drive it the way it is ment to be driven.

I have 1200 miles on my Mk2 3.2 TT and I took it easy on the car for the first few hundred miles but then started driving more aggresivly after about 500miles. I drove it like I normally would...of course I would avoid spiking the tach...If you ddont abuse it...she'll be fine.
