the feature was the 2.0t TT vs. Brera 4cyl vs. RX-8.

basically the Alfa was too slow, the RX-8 was too ugly...and the TT was sort of in the middle.

the TT just seemed a bit boring......and it looked terrible going round the track...although it put up a fair time....it still didn't look as bad as the Alfa going round the track though...EEK!

but hell...i'd still have the Alfa i think....

the TT is definitely not as pretty as it used to be...and it shows....it doesn't gather the same sort of "stare" factor as the original did.......although the Alfa seems to have taken that crown from the MK2....

i'm still waiting for my first drive of a MK2 to decide whether i'd switch or not next year....but as of now, it's still a no go.

I doubt the mk1 looks any better going around their track, I've seen the vid, I just don't remember. But, when it wasn't moving it at least looked better :) When are they going to let the Stig have a go at the R8?

The discussion over at the UK forum has everyone wondering if the car was MR equipped or if it was if it was turned on. They are checking with the local dealers there to find out. JC's car had MR since he talked about it,
but Stig was driving different cars than the other three were.

I like this vid of the TT on the track. It looks like it does OK and they rate it a notch below an S2000. Can anyone translate?

TT on track vid

The Alpha was gorgeous, but pathetic in motion - still, it also has that indefinable quality that the mk1 has in spades, and that the mk2 totally lacks.

I had rx7's in the past and loved them, but the 8 has never interested me in any way, but I must admit it that at least it looked like it belonged being fast-hoofed around a road course, where the other two seemed completely out of their element.

best car". The alfa offered pathetic performance, like as the video put it performance for 1974 when 0 - 60 in over 8 seconds was considered 'quick'. Now we have cars that hit that mark in 4 seconds and even the TT in the 5's or 6's...

The Alfa looked like it was going to flip over in most of the turns it encountered. So, no acceleration, no handling, and ugly to look at?

The base model TT was the fastest around the track by a margin, and even against the RWD RX8.

All of a sudden they didn't like the TT interior, it had no soul, and was compared to a Golf? Ya right...

but i remember reading that J.Clarkson liked the mk2.

I agree that they are not even wrt to their impressions about various cars. watch their review of the c6z06....i would never buy it, but I respect it for the tame road rocket that it is.
They seem to nitpick niggles to support their final opinions. If you realize that they make up their minds about whether or not to like a car before they drive it, i think you can agree w/ their valid points while tossing out their nitpicks.

it is an entertaining show, but I would not buy a sports car or a supercar based on their opinions.
I do want to see what they have to say about the R8, though.

sorry for rambling....

Not too shabby considering it only has 200 hp and front wheel drive.
