View Full Version : That 2.5L TT variant I mentioned yesterday will have a direct link to the following vehicles...

... Lamborghini Gallardo. Yep.
Needless to say, the engine will get some post-exhaust cycle help to hit the 350HP level. This "help" will make the car more receptive to chip and induction system tweaks than say, the 302HP V6 version.
There is a possibility the car will feature a hyphenated model name name rather than a letter suffix/prefix.
More details later in the coming week.
353/s/ 07-15-2006, 10:10 AM Seems there is a lot of powerplants in the works for just one car. I would assume a few would replace others:
We've talked about:
200hp FWD 4cyl.
230hp Quattro 4cyl.
250hp Quattro 6cyl.
260hp Quattro 4cyl.
302hp Quattro 6cyl.
350hp Quattro 5cyl.
and this doesn't even include the diesel side of things!

JohnLZ7W 07-15-2006, 10:58 AM make the 302 the TTS and the 350 the TTR.
Works for me, I just want the 2.5 :)

You mean TT-R in that case.
Becorse Audi will never call it R-TT i can asure you that.
... 2.5TFSI I5 will use a single turbocharger.
... 200HP 2.0TFSI I4 Front Track
230HP 2.0TFSI I4 Quattro
250HP 3.2L V6 Quattro
302HP FSI V6 Quattro
350HP 2.5TFSI I5 Quattro
Not all the engines will be offered at any signle time, some will be phased out and others added during the AU353/AU354/AU355's lifecycle.
Still a few years for the Audi-Lambo TT though.
JohnLZ7W 07-15-2006, 03:47 PM Not like you'll tell, but perhaps a hint?

The AU355 is...
BTW, I'm expecting an answer, a correct answer, within ten minutes of my posting of this.

Still not a done-deal for the U.S. or Canadian markets for the reasons mentioned in the first generation TT forum previously. But tentatively approved for Europe and most other major TT markets. Final AAG review set for late summer/early Autumn.
Took you longer than ten minutes though. Way more.
probably too early to ask about the SB+2.5T engine eh?
PS: how much more does the 2.5t weigh than a 2.0t?
(if some clown replies with 'about .5'....)
JohnLZ7W 07-15-2006, 06:08 PM 1/2 more
:)

353/s/ 07-15-2006, 06:40 PM Yes I'm most likely wrong... but you shouldn't be so sure of yourself as previous Audi model designation would make a R-TT and a S-TT more likely than not!

CarbonFibre 07-16-2006, 02:46 AM Things are simpler that way anyway.
RogueRaven 07-16-2006, 05:56 AM please don't tell me this is an '08 or later model...
I must admit, we have a plethora of engines being hinted at - 2 X 2.0T, 2 X 3.2V6, 2.5TI5 and a 2.?TDI. I'm wondering how many of these will make it to full fruition?

lombardi 07-16-2006, 06:15 AM I see an awful lot of upcoming engines mentioned in your posts. Could you enlighten me what we'll see in the near future, e.g. till the end of 2007?
I've read lots of rumors on the upcoming engines e.g. for the TT quattro Sport, maybe you could give me some details about that as you're probably closer to the source as anyone else.
... North of fifty large (in 2006 dollars). How much north is dependent on a whole bunch of stuff, much of it out of both AAG's and AoA's hands.

CarbonFibre 07-16-2006, 09:28 AM Like what makes it a "Audi-Lambo TT" in being different from this TFSI inline 5 model you speak of?
... "Audi-Lambo" and 350 QC are one in the same. Just a term I used for the I5. Which, by the way will functionally be half an original Gallardo engine. With a better cylinder head. FSI. And a turbo.

RogueRaven 07-16-2006, 05:20 PM I notice Australia is red on your map; Do you make it down here much?
In the scheme of things we are a very small market, so I'm not sure how we figure on the global roadmap...
RogueRaven 07-17-2006, 01:46 AM that this engine would probably fit in an A3...
Could we see the long-rumoured RS3 yet?
