The R32 started running rough late Saturday night. It would barely idle and then the check engine light came on. I limped it back home and broke out the VAG-COM. 2 codes; Multiple mis-fires and cylinder 2 mis-fires. I immediately suspect coil-packs and think great, where am I going to get coil-packs on Sunday. I decide to cannibalize the A3 for parts and pull a coil-pack. I start up the R32 and it is still running rough. Plug the VAG-COM back in and still 2 codes; Multiple mis-fires and cylinder 3 mis-fires. I pull another coil-pack from the donor car and Bingo all fixed. If it hadn't been for VAG-COM I never would have figured it out to make it to the track.
