Driving on WB I-80, right near 1300E, left lane, doing about 60mph. All of the sudden hear a huge explosion coming from the right front. First thought is "omg tire just exploded". Slow the hell down, get to the right lane. So far, no tire damage as steering and handling hasn't changed. Got off at State St, get out of the car and check the tires and look under the car for fluids. Everything seems fine.
Check again this morning and I found the source of the noise. The body panel underneath the front passenger door now has a huge crack in it. Guessing I picked up a piece of debri or a tool and it got slammed into that part of the car.
I'm glad its not a tire/rim problem as the OZ SL's are discontinued and I'd be screwed trying to find a replacement. And while the tires are near replacement levels, I don't want the hassle of having to do that right now. But damnit ... this car already has too many battle wounds and now another. Another one I can't afford to fix.
