I'm coming down this weekend for the Miller Motorsports Park event from Wyoming. This will be my first Driver's School event so I'm not quite sure what to expect... Does anyone have any recommendations on what to bring and how to best prepare for the weekend? Looks like the park is quite a ways from town, so I'm guessing I should bring food/drink, etc.? Anything else?
Thanks,
Steve

How many sessions will there be, and for how long?

Saturday morning: tech, drivers meetings, exercises (slalom, braking, emergency lane change)
Saturday afternoon: I think 3 sessions for each run group, 20 minutes each I believe (could be 25 tho)
Sunday morning: 2 sessions for each run group (20's again)
Sunday afternoon: 3 sessions for each run group (20's again), but people leave early and they might mix things up.

Folding camp chairs, two or three tarps (to cover all of your junk in case of bad weather), tools, torque wrench (I check the torque on my wheels before every run), air gauge, camera, cooler with drinks and snacks, extra oil, brake fluid, roll of paper towels, window cleaner, a couple of wheel chauks (leave car in neutral after run to cool engine but you can't use your emergency brake since brakes are hot.) I watched a Subaru STI roll and hit two cars last year at a SCCA event. Also, sun screen ( I got burned yesterday at the SCCA PDX),

There is gas and air at the track. Let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks, Clark

when someone's car rolled across the parking lot into mine. At least a 2x4 or something.

Usually the beginners get classroom and off track car control exercises on day one....and then two sessions in the afternoon. Then on Sunday they get four sessions on track..all usually about 18-25 minutes long..depending on lots of variables. But, this varies from time to time depending on region you run with...how many people signed up...etc..etc..etc.

Happy to let anyone fill up their tires. Much easier than using a compressor.

I was in the Avus Silver RS4. Had a fantastic time! Didn't get to meet you, I think you were too busy driving :)
Already looking forward to next year...
