well the <a href="http://forums.audiworld.com/slc/msgs/4753.phtml">original post</a> saw many enthused responses. So, to finalize a few details:

- Sunday April 6th, afternoon-late evening

- centered around taking some photos of the cars there (so bring your cameras!) but mostly to meet other auidheads

- <a href="http://www.figure8thestates.com">The trip site</a> is set up for the most part and would make for a wonderful entry - grand salt flats itself and the beautiful cars to show =-)

Say "I" if you can come!

Lastly, any input on initial meetup location?

I plan on being at MMS for the earlier part of the day as well.

I may have to travel on the 6th to be in some meetings on the 7th. We'll see. I really want to be there.

with either the 90 or S4. it all depends on how much water everyone thinks will be out there.

i am coming out for the audi club miller event, which happens the following weekend, so i'm leaving coloraudi a week early for this meet-up clicky-time.
then i'll just camp at bonneville for the week, reading a lot of kerouac.

out at bonneville, we should agree to meet up at the camping area at "the bend" of the access road, or else on out, at the end of the pavement of the same road.
"the bend" is right where the access road changes from northbound to east bound. the end of the pavement is unambiguous.

there are a couple of coin-op car washes in wendover, just a few miles further down the interstate, to get your car pristine.
one is a few blocks south of(behind) the "rainbow casino" at a conoco station. the other is at the west end of town, past 'wendover will', turn south at the grocery store, go down towards the neighborhood, and then turn right(westward)up the hill, and you'll see it.

Boki, any new news on the MMS event?

weather looks pretty bad until Friday, where it gets warm and dry.

Wish I could make it out there, but I'm out of town.

Please, don't anyone get your hopes up that you'll be able to drive fast on the salt flats. Right now they will be covered in water. Very salty water...

The water evaporates off during the summer/late summer which is why the 3 big events are in August, September, and October.

Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make it. I have to travel Saturday - Thursday for work.

Please be careful out there! The salt crust is very thin on the edges and you can break through and get stuck very easily. Don't drive off the road until you get to the very end of the pavement...<ul><li><a href="http://saltflats.com/stuck.htm">This can happen any time of year...</a></li></ul>

Pretty decent mexican food!

Maybe meet at Home Depot on 21st South and 300 West or on Redwood Road exit off I-80. I'm guessing we'd have to leave HD about 2:30 or so since it is about 100 miles to get out to the Salt Flats by 4:00 from there. Someone please check my distance/time or suggest a good meeting place.

We can take some rolling shots out on 80...can ne1 bring a friend/SO as an extra driver and/or vehicle?

btw i had no hopes to set any 1.8 tiptronic records - gotaa grandma this thing for the trip =-)

i've still got a bit of prep to do, on the car, for the miller event the next weekend, so i'm not ready to drive out of town tomorrow.

i'm really bummed things didn't come together here sooner, as i was really looking forward to the meet-up clicky-time out at bonneville with you.

maybe when we're both back in .:Rado this summer, we can get together.
