I was going north on the 15 from Provo around midnight. Well coming up to my exit in Lehi, I changed lanes next to some guy in an Acura. He followed me off the freeway, and I eventually lost him, so I went to Maverick, and he just happened to be there, parked across the street. So I backed into a parking spot facing where he was and waited for him to leave. Well, about 5 minutes later a Lehi cop comes and circles the parking lot, and stares me down, then drives back to him and starts talking to him. The cop comes back to me and pulls in front of my car with his spotlight on, and starts saying that the guy was following me to get my pate because I had almost hit him on the freeway. So I explain what happened and the cop goes back to him and says that the other driver just wanted to make sure I wasn't impaired and able to drive. So the cop asks me to to get out of the car, starts flashing his flashlight in my eyes and asks me to stick out my tung. He asks if I has smoked marijuana, and kept telling me not to lie to him when I said no. (Of course I was not high). So he calls for another unit to come, and I'm not kidding you when I say that the entire Lehi Police department on duty decided to come. There were 3 SUVs, and 3 cars.. When they got there, they made me take a sobriety test, walking a line, balancing, following a pen, and kept checking my mouth, saying I had a film on my tung and blisters on the back of my mouth. After saying that I was willing to take a blood test, they stopped. All in all, Utah cops are ridiculous, and I didn't end up getting home until 2AM. I walked with nothing, no citations or anything. I might have gotten lucky, but not really considering how gay the situation was.

Thats it, it might not be that exciting. I just moved here and I thought California was bad..

I've had plenty of instances where being nice to them means I get to go quicker and without a ticket. Hell, I've even had cops make note of that in front of a judge, which of course HELPS YOU!

Where ultimately I had 5 police cars surrounding my car at 3am, all because I matched the description for grand theft auto. 18 year old white male driving a Toyota Camry? Sure, whatever.

Cops were bored.

I was just in Cali and for the first time ever, (seriously) someone let me over with reasonable space in rush- hour traffic. I actually smiled.

actually had a guy try to ram his car into mine to prevent me from merging, in stop and go traffic on an interstate. When I realized my 6 month insurance payment was more than his total car, I backed off.

Everywhere has crappy drivers. They all just suck for different reasons. Why anyone thinks their area is special or unique is beyond me.

Unless the cops see you actually commiting the violation, or are prepared to have the witness testimony their only defense in court they would never cite you for something that someone calls in.

With all that going on you could have/should have demanded that the shift captain come to the scene and complain to him.

What a crock. Lehi cops patrol the freeway all the time, too - especially just south of the point of the mountain.

Did you get the plate number of the Acura? We could all call him in... :)
