and which route seems to be the best way to go in this altitude? AWE, ASP, APR, HB...? I just ordered a stg3 fueling kit from Vast, it will be here hopefully late this week. I'll let everyone know how it works out.

View Full Version : I'm new here...How many full stg 3 S4's in Utah pizipe 12-04-2006, 11:24 PM and which route seems to be the best way to go in this altitude? AWE, ASP, APR, HB...? Local support from Streamline Industries (GIAC dealer) 2. Custom tuned by Jeff Moss who is the GIAC guru 3. AWE has a proven product Vast is great to work with BTW! neilm 12-05-2006, 06:57 AM hans j 12-05-2006, 08:05 AM pizipe 12-05-2006, 08:11 AM Would you be willing to help dial in my Vast stg 3 for a fee? Audilard 12-05-2006, 09:41 AM hans j 12-05-2006, 09:55 AM Don't think we have any time to schedule it in. If you have VAG Com I would be more than willing to try to figure out how to dial it in. We might be able to data log a bit on the weekend sometime. Blue2 12-06-2006, 03:57 PM Right now I'm Homebrew with a Stage 3 minus intake and stock injectors on X-chip with an MBC only setup running 23psi peak and taper to 19.5 and high-altitude VAST TCD. This setup seems to run very well at altitude, but I'm not sure I like the MBC only throttle response. It is either all on or all off and the MBC does not like partial throttle under load. I'm considering switching to the ASP high-altitude set-up since it is on sale. pizipe 12-07-2006, 09:18 AM What are your CF's like, have you done any logging? What about your o2 voltages? I'm still waiting on my Vast fueling stuff to get so I'm stg 3- for the time, but I'm running 17 psi on stock fueling just based on recommendations. Blue2 12-07-2006, 10:58 AM and I'm running rich right now. My AFR was below 10:1 last time I logged. The stock injectors run just fine up to around 140% duty cycle. I've pulled 5% fueling and the car is much faster - have not run a log since. I peak at 23 and hold 19.5 at WOT. My timing and CFs don't look bad, but I was running way rich. My FATs was only 4.2s, but the car is much quicker since I pulled fueling. I should be able to get a sub 4 second FATS with this set-up. That was at 6000' elevation in Park City. Utah01S4 01-01-2007, 11:38 AM While I agree that the stuff is solid, and I DO like GIAC, it might be worth considering some other sources for certain things like headers, DP's, intake, MAF and maybe even the next gen turbos, skipping K04's altogether. VAST and ASP have better products in these catagories, IMO. BTW lemmi is NOT difficult. Utah01S4 01-01-2007, 11:43 AM Utah01S4 01-01-2007, 11:44 AM |
