So, wife and I are coming to Slc to look at housing, to prep for our upcoming move. Staying downtown at the Radisson. Open to all kinds/types of food.
although we currently get lots of seafood in Maine. You guys have been right on the money on my other posts, so I figured I'd continue to use you as a resource. We'll be there 4 nights, so variety is a good thing, and would give us an idea of what to expect once we get there.
Also, is there a recommended tint shop in slc. I was planning to get the avant done in Boston before I left, but if there is a solid shop in slc, I'll most likely wait until I get there.
TIA...a bunch. Lane

They did a top notch job.
As far as restaurants downtown....
Sushi - Ginza
Japanese/Sushi - Mikado
Brazilian BBQ (total meat fest) - Rodizio Grill
Steaks & seafood - The New Yorker, Market Street Grill
Italian Deli - Tony Caputo's Market
New York deli - Gandolpho's
German - Sigfreids (you've gotta have a bratwurst or Schnitzel)
Brew Pubs - Red Rock Brewing Co / Squatters Brew Pub
The Gatewall Mall area has a bunch of places - California Pizza Kitchen, McGraths, Happy Sumo, Z Tejas is good for Tex/Mex, Flemings
There is a Bucca D Beppo & a PF Changs downtown as well.
Venturing further from downtown:
Red Butte Cafe, Blue Plate Diner
Hands down the best Italian in Utah - Lugano's. Not cheap but it's rated as one of the best places to eat in Utah. Well worth it.
Great. It's 10:30 now & I'm starving.

even then, you'll probable be disappointed with the best we have to offer compared to what you can get in Maine. Least I know I am when they try to pass off Maryland Crab Cakes here (I grew up in MD).
For tint, do be aware Utah only allows 43%(ish) in the fronts (so aftermarket tint of 50%) but pretty much as dark as you want to go in the rears. Which fortunately you have an avant, which works better with light front / dark rears than a sedan does.

I'll need a recommendation for a vet too. I have a Weim (named quattro), and IIRC you have Weims as well? It will be nice to be in a larger city vs. the sticks of Maine wrt dining. TIA. Lane

she no longer is in practive as a regular vet since she specializes in ultrasounds. I will call her & get a recommendation for you.
There are some good places around SLC that quattro will love.

Seafood is tuff. We're 700 miles inland. Maybe try Market Street Broiler. Good elegant(& expensive)downtown is Metropolitan. Best steak bar none is Corbin's in Layton. Believe it! Also many wonderful restaurants in Park City. One of my favorites is Chamayo.
