View Full Version : Poll: Who here has a Stage 3 S4? What fueling kit do you use? TIA Blue2 09-30-2006, 10:49 AM Just trying to get some dialog started on what versions of fueling people use and if they have any issues with altitude. Thanks Utah01S4 10-01-2006, 10:05 PM Thinking about other options, but with TCD & MBC it works pretty well. neilm 10-02-2006, 10:34 AM Blue2 10-04-2006, 12:46 PM nord1899 10-04-2006, 01:18 PM hans j 10-04-2006, 07:53 PM I don't know what you are running and there is one with K04/K16 Bhuen Hybrids running Achtuning something software. I am hopeing that with Neilm and Moss' help, we can develop a good GIAC altitude program for the AWE fueling kit. There are probably more out there but that's all I can count right now or know about. What are you running? I would love to hear about it. I really want to go Stg III someday on my car but I am on the super cheap modding plan with my car. Blue2 10-07-2006, 10:46 PM 85mm MAF, 38# Delphi injectors, X-chip Ko3 software with Lemmiwinks tweaks, TCD and MBC. I have discovered a problem with this set-up with the help of Jordan Dorfman at high altitude. With the larger MAF housing, the low g/s numbers caused by reduced airflow causes the X software to operate in closed-loop mode resulting in reduced performance at WOT due to lean injector duty cycles. I suspect other Stage 3 sofware may have some of these same issues. Still working on a fix. hans j 10-08-2006, 11:32 AM The TCD which they call it on the Audi's for some reason seems to be the same diode used to 'clamp the MAP' on VW's. A problem I have with this is the computer only sees so much boost is on the MAP, thus fueling for that boost accordingly. Mostly people were using it to get aropund having a chip and keeping the throttle plate open under high boost. I haven't gotten to play around with it at all on an Audi but if you already have software that requests a certain amount of boost, why have the TDC? I guess if you set the boost higher than requested with a MBC then it would work but from what I remember about the VW stuff, it just clamped the voltage around stock boost and that's all the ECU got. Anyway, seems like a cool setup you have, if you want to fatten up the mixture, maybe try a smaller size housing. That way it will see more air and add more fuel. Worked on a PES T-28 car for this altitude. wagongotya 10-09-2006, 08:30 AM IIRC, a few others have had that issue. NigelS4 rings a bell. OneFastSilverBullet 11-27-2006, 11:44 PM Hey Hans! its Bryce from Pleasant grove, county ring a bell, well anyway i am the guy with the silver s4 with the stage three set up?......anyways, im looking into getting the homebrew set up and was wondering if you could help me out at all with that set up. if you would want to give me a call or just talk to me on any of these messengers i would gladly apreciate it!....
