and the Utah traffic court system.

Today was the bench trial for my "too fast for conditions" ticket. And.....

The state got a continuance. The highway patroller did not show up, the prosecutor only has the ticket (same ticket I have) as evidence.

And I get to come back on Sept 21st to sit in traffic court for another 3 hours.

So 4 trips to the court offices, 3 in front of a judge, before I can get a $92 fine and however many points, dismissed.

Maybe I should just say fvck it, go against the principle of the thing, ahh hell no.

I though if the officer didn't show up, then you are pretty much OK. I haven't ever gone to court for a ticket so what do I know....

Hopefully in Sept it'll all be done with.

Next time ask for your continuance - paybacks.

But this is that really rare case where I truly feel I am innocent (unlike most speeding where I either want a reduction or a technicality).

And most likely when said and done, I'll have spent about 8 hours dealing with it. Compared to say the ticket I got in NY, where I spent 5 minutes dealing with it.
