and I am the kind of guy that waves or says hello to everyone I see also on a bicycle. Like a bolt of lightning I realized that most people that are out for enjoyment/exercise are very friendly and wave back. However, the local talent--or most guys with any sort of team jersey--just look at me like I have 3 heads. Does this happen to anyone else? Thoughts?

Oh yeah I saw 2 S4 sedans--one of which was silver--and 1 S4 avant while riding. (Audi content)

just hope your lap times from ACNA earlier in the week are faster than I can pull on my bike!

And I don't see anything on the calendar for Thurs May 25th. I just "Honda Race Team".

not motorcycles like i am guessing you are thinking, but pedal bikes. should be fun with all the turns and a good long straight away for the finish! We go for 8 laps of the full course; info at site below.

http://www.thanksgivingpointclassic.com</a

But the website says 5 laps for 36km (22.3miles). And with the full track being 4.5 miles long, sounds about right.

Sounds interesting though.

I second your observation about jerseyed riders. I am participating in the MMP NASA event on Sunday if you want to check out the track then.

but get a lower % of team guys waving back. Oh well. I did wave to a guy last week as we passed & he waved back - it was Dave Zabriske. 8^) Hope he does well on the TDF this year.

I rode up Emigration to Big Mountain last Sunday (and almost died). It's nice since the road past Mt. Dell is still closed to cars. Gives me plenty of room to zig-zag up the last few switchbacks.

I was out last night and got a flat right around Big Cottonwood. As luck would have it, I did not have a pump -- so I got the tube changed and just kinda waited hoping a rider would stop. At least 4 "pro" looking guys passed without slowing down. I know there is no obligation to assist, and I'm dumb for forgetting the pump, but when I pass a stopped rider I at least slow down and ask if they need anything. Oh well.

Finally a nice old guy on an old Schwinn stopped and loaned me his pump. He was wearing jean shorts!

ScottFree--It kills me that those guys didn't stop or even ask if you needed assistance as they rolled by!

for a few reasons - too many close calls & my wife hates them. I almost had her convinced to get one again and my buddy dumps his on some gravel & screws up his arm, shoulder, ribs etc. I doubt I'll ever get one again.
