I've had Navigation in all of my most recent cars and it's become a necessity. Not so much because I don't know where I'm going, but because I'm a gadget nut and like these things.

For those that have experience Nav in other cars, I'm curious what you think of Audi's newest version.

I've had it in a 2002 BMW (pretty outdated appearing an annoying to use), Acura (the best of the bunch), and Lexus (great touch-screen interface, but showing it's age and the voice command is absolutely useless).

Anyone care to offer their thoughts?

If you are a gadget guy you won't be impressed. The facelifted A6, the A8 and soon the A5 will have the MMI 3G, much more fun. A4 may get it later in 2009, A3/TT/R8 don't have the real MMI and may be stuck with the RNS-E for at least 12-18 months.

And not able to search for supermarkets, pharmacies. Also Audi has failed to offer a "real software update for the Nav", like BMW, I updated my 12/2002 Z4 twice getting 3D maps and search by name (supermarkets, pharmacies, Best Buy,...). Both Navigations are Navteq based.
