Hello all,
I've done some searching and found a bit of info on this, but nothing useful came up. Here's the problem and a bit of background: Car is an '09 A3 2.0 and I installed an RNS-E unit from an '07 a couple of months ago without a hitch. The unit has worked flawlessly but I've been annoyed with start-up warning screen (and the radio preset memory function and the 'mix' feature when playing cd's...) so I decided to try to update the unit with the 0260 firmware. I downloaded the files from 0260 Files.zip and burned them onto a disc. I turned the unit on, installed the disc and the 'updating, please wait' message came on, followed by the progress bar that only lasted about two seconds (maybe 5% of the bar). Then I got the black screen with the asian characters on it, followed by a re-boot a few seconds later. Then the cycle repeated and keeps on repeating. It doesn't even give me the chance to eject the disc. So...question one: how do I stop the cycle and eject the disc? Question two: Assuming I'm past question one, will reinstalling the original Nav DVD make the unit happy again? Question three: What went wrong in the first place? Are the files from that site corrupt? Is there another way to update the firmware? Ok, that was five questions... Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Ben
