We just purchased a 2006 A3 with the Nav and the installed "Convenience Package". From my understanding that packed was the only requirement for the Bluetooth integration kit ot be installed. The AudiofUSA site shows this as an option for the A3 and the Bluetooth press release states the option is available for the car.

According to my local Audi dealership though this option is only available by ordering the car fromthe factory with the bluetooth kit installed (in manufactoring).

Unacceptable.

Does anyone know how I can get this kit installed in my new A3 so the wife can concentrate on driving and NOT curbing every rim on the car?

Thanks in advance.

Audi doesn't officially support retrofitting the BT phone interface. But it is very well possible, check navplus.us or do a search here.

Thanks for the response ... I found the kit on navplus for the low low price of 725.

Tell me I won't buy it right now ... go ahead....tell me.

You know I'll do it

Search on Audizine for 400HPA4 and get a quote for the Audi parts, contact Euro-parts.us for the harness and make up your mind if you can install the stuff yourselves. That way you can save a couple hundred $$$ and still get the OEM feeling.

you will need to do some searching, but expect just the component prices to cost you around $600. Not a great deal for BT connectivity.

dealer prices:

Audi phone box - $540 ~ $580
Microphone - $160 ~ $190
Bluetooth Antenna - $29 ~ $36
Cable harness - dealer doesn't even have those but you can find one online for $120 ~ $150

I may be in the same boat - looking at a used 3.2 with factory Nav but no bluetooth! Just to be sure I understand; if I go with the OEM bluetooth, I'll get Nav integration, as well as steering wheel button support? But it may be a bear to both find the pieces and someone to do the install? (I'm not the one to do it - I can break a shovel!)
