Just wondering if anyone has had this issue- I installed a Nav Plus (4BO, revision F, version D) in my 01 S4 Avant, replacing the stock Symphony head unit. Also added the TMC/CAN unit. Since the installation my battery will drain to the point the car won't start after just a few days of sitting. Local dealer verified the drain was coming from the "european" (read- we won't touch it)nav system. One thing I noticed was that the Nav unit does not turn off with the ignition key, whereas the stock head unit did. Not sure if I did something with the wiring but I used the plug-n-play harness and TMC/CAN wiring instructions from posts on Audiworld. Also had the dealer attempt to VAGCOM to get instrument to display Nav info, but it didn't work.
Any thoughts on where to start or known solutions would be great.

Your radio may not be turning off your amps and/or cd changer properly if your PNP harness is fouled up.

It tries to dial-out when the car is off, essentailly never turning itself off.
Oh, didn't read your whole post. You've got constant going to a switched 12v for the nav+ unit, too. It should turn itself off when the key is switched off.

I've had my TMC/CAN hooked up to my constant battery for 18 months without any issues.....you just need to turn off the "TP" or traffic program so that it doesn't try to search for traffic programs...that it won't ever receive in the US. Make sense?
Happy reading!

Thanks to all for the advice. I'm pretty sure I turned off the Traffic Program but I'll verify that today. I have a feeling I've got constant power to my Nav unit for some reason but I'll check my TMC wiring as well while I'm in there. Won't get to that until this weekend though, but I'll post what I find. Thanks again!
