World Car Fans has released a new suite of spy photos of the upcoming R8. Although still partly covered in camouflage, this series is nonetheless even more revealing. The car's natural paint is exposed along with more of its side detail.

The production car is strikingly similar to the 'Le Mans' concept seen just over 2 years ago. From the front, the major difference is a revised hood seam resulting in an even more aggressive appearance than the concept.

There is still no official word on what the engine choices would be, but the RS4's 4.2 V8 and a high-output version of Audi's new 5.2 V10 are strong candidates. There has even been talk of a bi-turbo fitted to the V10, much like the concept.
