Despite the predicted plummeting sales for the soon-to-be-replaced TT (which is also not available in states such as California) and the discontinued Allroad, Audi hit a stellar sales record again in the US. Of particular note, the new A6 tripled its sales from this time last year. The updated A4 is also seeing strong sales growth.

The Audi press release:

"AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Audi of America, Inc. reported its best September sales month in history. With sales of 7,854 units, the German luxury brand's numbers are up 34.6 % over September of 2004. Key drivers of this success are the A6 model range with 1,640 sales reported - up 211.2 % - and the A4 model line with 4,169 units, representing an increase of 19.7 %.

"The essence of our success are excellent products”, says Johan de Nysschen, Executive Vice President of Audi of America. "We have the youngest line-up of any luxury brand in the United States. The sales of our A4 and A6 models now reflect this”.

The new Audi A6 range had been introduced at the end of last year as a 6- and 8-cylinder sedan and is now complemented by the all-new Audi A6 Avant. The A4 model range was launched in spring of 2005 and is available in Sedan, Avant and Cabriolet derivatives featuring an unmatched range of 4-, 6- and 8-cylinder engines in front-wheel-drive or the renowned quatttro® all-wheel-drive.

Year-to-date, Audi of America has sold 59,656 cars, up a healthy 4.1 percent over the same period in 2004."

a month at most.

Fuel tank on 2.0T QTR is specific to that car, and requires full certification. Not worth it for now.
