My A6 3.2 costs 65,000 Euros in Germany = $80,000
Price in the US was $54,000
That's with EXACTLY the same options in both markets

The BASE price for the ML350 in Germany (cloth seats and non-metallic color) is 48,000 Euros wich is $57,730 (or $17,000 more than the base price in the US).

You cannot compare Euro pricing to US pricing for any German car.

The US models are usually MUCH better equipped (the A6 for instance comes standard with leather here in the US and cloth in Europe, plus a ton of other features).

Audi knows the market and they usually price their cars below MB and BMW - in case of the Q7 they have a much better vehicle (7 seats for instance), so they may price it about the same as the BMW and MB offerings.

My 2 cents, US pricing should be available early next year.

I know for a fact that back in the early '90 people would export Mercedes SL convertibles back to Germany and save considerable amounts of money, not to mention that they would cut short the wait (2-3 years at the time) for the car to a few weeks.

According to the Audi dealer I visited back in Germany about 6 weeks ago, the A6 sells itself and there is a considerable wait for the car in Germany. Problem with reexport is that most people there want the smaller engines or the TDI powered cars ...

In August, Audi had the best seller in it's class with the A6 (36.5% market share):

Audi A6...............5,739
Mercedes E-class...5,601
BMW 5 series.........2,749

And the numbers for the A4 was the best seller in its class (19.6% market share):

Audi A4, S4.....7,894
BMW 3 series...6,361
VW Passat.......6,066

Top 11 sellers in Germany in August:

01 VW Golf ......15,867
02 Audi A4 .......8,154
03 BMW 3er .......6,649
04 Ford Focus ....6,495
05 VW Polo .......6,392
06 MB A-class ....6,318
07 Opel Astra ....6,135
08 VW Passat .....6,066
09 Audi A6 .......5,739
10 MB E-class ....5,601
11 Audi A3 .......5,158

Sorry for the horrible formatting - any suggestions on how to make the tables line up better will be appreciated.
