Went to see the annual Concours d'Elegance. This year's theme was Porsche & Lamborghini but there were also other very nice-looking cars. Especially the 1935 Auburn replica was stunning. All pics taken with the 35L.

Great pictures! The 35L is nice on 1Ds, isn't it?

Cool EMW - my neighbor had one of those when I was little. Wasn't anywhere near as pretty, but ran without a glitch

They probably use some kind of high-tech ultra-sound devices to protect their precious babies...

The 35L is magic on the 1Ds, I love it! And I'm STILL waiting for the 300/2.8. The estimated delivery time is the first week of July.

This was actually the first time I saw an EMW, I had never even heard of it. Looked fantastic though. I should have taken more pics of it.

It was one of BMW's plants that ended up in the Soviet-controlled district after WWII. Hence the BMW's roundel, just red instead of blue. A lot of russian military officers brought them back in the early 50's

That factory later produced Wartburg - THE car of East Germany. Well, after the Trabant, of course LOL

They were often seen also on Finnish roads many many years ago. They've pretty much totally disappeared in the last 25 years or so.

after taxes, those cars must have cost a LOT of money

There were a least half a dozen new F430s and 911 Turbos, I lost count of lesser and older models. And the really old, restored beauties are probably priceless - at least to their owners. It's a very high-quality event and a very nice one.
