if you switch to wildlife add a Sidekick and call it a day.

I think it always pays in the long run w/ the more expensive camera gear. The only part of the equation that's 'disposable' is the body.

take another couple of years for the 5D to be 'old' and I've had the 5D since it came out (3 years?).

that's why, I put all my money into the lenses, not the body (usually).
