bunch of toning--not a lot of photoshop manipulation, but a lot of tweaking.

gets overplayed/overprocessed like HDR, but when done right (like the above example) i think it can look real good

as for that "Dave Hill look" - maybe I'm in the minority, but I think it looks terrible. There probably are applications for that, but most of what I saw looks plain cheesy IMO

But I think it works particularly well on the photo I posted above though.
The stuff on Dave Hill's website http://www.davehillphoto.com/ mostly looks awful, which again is perfectly appropriate for WWE stars.<ul><li><a href="http://www.davehillphoto.com/">http://www.davehillphoto.com/</a></li></ul>
