View Full Version : say what you want - some birds are just so graceful! This was about the best I could manage. 500/4 would be sooo nice... looey 04-10-2008, 01:27 PM Petri 04-10-2008, 01:36 PM RKA 04-10-2008, 02:29 PM Wonder if you'll make any money from the AWOT sales? MichaelTM 04-10-2008, 02:46 PM I've been using this combo for a while since then, and when used properly, it's really amazing. No match for the 500 or 600, of course, but unless you print very large, it will be hard to tell the difference. And, unless you turn into a crazy birder :), should be long enough for most reasonable applications. Focus slows down a bit and can hunt in difficult light, but copes fine with birds in flight. Here's an unprocessed 100% crop - 300 f/2.8 +2x teleconverter. Seems it could move on jet propulsion alone Petri 04-10-2008, 09:44 PM Yeah, you are absolutely correct! I'd love to try the 500/4 but it's just too much for me since I'm not a birder. The 300/2.8 would the best lens also for me - and your pics have proved that many, many times :) I also like the 100-400L because of the versatility but it's a bit slow. My dad has a very good copy and it produces very nice images if there's enough light. TRM 04-11-2008, 07:15 AM my daughter will love that shot. LI-S4 04-11-2008, 02:44 PM nikond70 04-15-2008, 11:12 AM The bird is in full strain. That must have been a good meal prior to the excretion.

http://www.stewiehuesphoto.com</a

|
