Well, we gave it a go. As you all know, I'm not working with much equipment, or skill for that matter, but what the hell right? : )
Anyway, we knew the results wouldnt be pro or even semi-pro, but it was free and better than nothing! Shot close to 100 images and probably only have about 20 that are decent. These were my top 6 thus far, and I just played with color and crop in Picassa to clean them up.
Comments and critique would be appreciated!

maybe clone out the spots? some of the others are a bit soft. What are you shooting with?

& 18-50 Sigma 2.8. was using high ISO's and a drop light and exposed 60watt lamp for light, some on a tripod, most handheld.
Thx for commenting.

Looks like a fairly wide aperture (for more light) lead to the fairly narrow DoF. I think stopping down would have improved that one. I like the idea of the last one, but the execution didn't come across so well. Tripod on that one? Did you have one light directly behind her lighting the wall and the other camera left? Background on 3 and 5 is bad. Lighting on 4 makes it almost like a scary movie. I think if the light was on her left shooting across her belly, it would have been better. Interesting set. Can you reshoot?

yes your corect on number 1. I shot almost exclusively at 2.8 for the light and I probably should have played around more.
On the last one, I actually realized I was onto something as well...after the fact. Tripod yes and correct on the lighting.
Having a cluttered apartment to shoot in with little to use made arrangments a bitch, I did what I could, but found it very frustrating to have to deal with so many distractions and so little in the way of good light.
4 didnt occur to me that way until you pointed it out, now thats what I see too. : (
A reshoot would depend on if she decides to blast off early and making our schedules work, but again, without better backgrounds or lighting, Im not sure if its worth me driving her nuts again.
Thanks for the comments.

also, any reason why number two doesn't show any of the belly or anything? just showing the side of her face emphasizes pregnancy weight which most women don't find very flattering.

ask if they have a white or dark solid colored bed sheet. drape it over a door or curtains and voila, instant back drop.
