It would be at her place, I have no studio lighting or any set up of the sort, not is she or I expecting awesome results. But of course I'd like to be a few steps up from snapshots.

Any ideas for lighting tricks I can use? posing I can suggest? type of wardrobe? background ideas? tripods in low light with high ISO settings for certain grainy effects? using lamps in certain positions to create effects? a Site I can vist for ideas?

I mean anything you can suggest would be great. Thanks

I dont think I'll get any window daylight, so I'll be jammed with what I can create inside...

difference is i have lighting i guess, but i still need to look around and find some shots to base mine on.

i agree, if you don't have any strobes you should defiintely try to take advantage of natural light through windows.

A couple of desk lamps with 100W bulbs should do just fine. Bump the ISO up to 400 if necessary. Then just play around with different angles and watch where the light and shadows go.

Soft window light, black and white, soft focus

If you can't have diffused light from the window...create your own. Take your flash off the camera with a sync cord, or use a commander mode if your body/flash has it, and fire the flash through a diffuser or large white sheet..

(if you can't remove your flash, or don't have an off camera flash, I'll sell you my D200 kit and throw in a flash..j/k)

Definately do some close work if she will allow. The details are always nice subjects. Tight skin, navel, hands on belly (tell her to get a manicure) etc. Don't over-look other body parts that are prone to change with pregnancy..

What do you use for post processing...?

I have an excellent CS3 / PS-E plugin for converting to B&W... free too!!

Are you shooting RAW or JPG?

I have **** post skills and frankly have no zest for sitting at a PC for hours going blind doing it.

I need to figure out a good workflow for minor adjustments and go from there.

I shoot jpeg for most snapshot type stuff and when Im doing something more important, (like this) I shoot RAW & JPEG so I can keep my option only.
