So I was just messing around the other night with the camera, testing a few things. Tripod, IR remote and long exposures. Then I grabbed a LED flash light...

The exposure on the house is 30 sec, roughly F8. And the metal sculpture was around 15 seconds, F8. They're nothing great, but I was wondering if anyone here has every tried this technique with any success?

In both images I am actually walking around in the frame dressing in dark clothing. Kinda fun.

I would have loved to do more windows on the house, but the stupid Canon Rebel doesn't do some of the cool tricks that my old EOS 630 did like multiple exposures on a single frame.
I think I need a new body. Hmmmm...

If you get creative enough you can paint full pictures in the night... Different colors, movements and lighting objects in the frame. You could go on for days and not do it all...

There is an element of calculated guess work that is what's fun about this technique. With Photoshop and a lot of skill anything is possible, but I like doing it old school. I think you're missing the point or you're just yanking my chain. Either way, I'll play with this technique some more.

Thanks for the input all!

or you combine frames in photoshop? to me it exactly teh same thing..

I've never really gotten too excited about multiple exposure since the film days, with digital, there's no need since you can make composites so easily after the fact...

Not to say that it isn't art if it's done in PS after. I just think it's a bit harder and worth more to me if it's done in the field. In the field you don't get all the same time to think and recompose the elements. I see your point too, but it just my preference to do it old school. That's all. I was just yanking your chain on the lazy thing. Nothing personal.

I'm old school too, but for multiple exposures, there's no harm in doing it new school.. =)
