what else to do but enjoy an ice cold refreshment.
i strobe at 5 o'clock shot into an umbrella. second strobe at 11 shot directly at the bottle.

The bottle needs some work but the textures and patterns of the others work for me.

i brought my other lenses out, but still want to play with the telephoto side of things so i left them in the car.
it's funny becaue when i first got the lens i commented on how heavy it was. over the weekend i put my 17-40 on for a few shots around the house and it felt like i was holding nothing in my hands!

i'm lovin them so far. they work perfet and never misfire. the only problem i have from time to time is my canon flash shutting off by itself. strobist is starting up another bootcamp for lighting so i'm looking forward to learning more.

I need this lens. I think I may hold off on the Sigma 24-70 and get the 70-200 first.

Very nice.

Great images. I love the sharpness of the lens.

but it's a little bit soft I've noticed. Not that bad but I do notice it. A little USM in PS takes care of it though. The color and contrast on the other hand is top notch!

or is it soft all the time? Does it front or back focus or something?

It must be front or back focusing. It's so subtle I can't really tell.

i'm only hemming because I want that lens.. I've read many great reviews, and some bad ones..

But I've been able to compensate for this by using a little USM in Photoshop.
