I noticed yesterday while shooting that there is a small windex blue colored group of pixels in the right hand side of the image, I am assuming it's either a dead or hot pixel, and I should turn the camera into a Nikon authorized repair center for warranty service, correct ?

since you mentioned you noticed them while shooting, do you mean they are on the rear LCD or on the sensor?

If they are on the sensor, Nikon can just map them out, if the LCD, then it probably needs replacement (if they really bother you). I had one blue pixel on my 1D's LCD, but I left it alone as it didn't bother me

what does map them out mean ?

do you see these pixels in editing software?

Do you shoot RAW. Some RAW converters remove hot pixels automatically

because I was shooting a friends graduation, and they just wanted the pics without having to go through that whole process.
