A lady on dpchallenge.com sold me hers for $160 including shipping!!! I'm super excited. Yes it's the APO DG model incase anyone was wondering. That's a hell of a deal I think. I should have it Thursday.

shutter to compensate for the length. I found that at 70mm, it's decently sharp. at 200 or more, it's REALLY sensitive to focal plane, and shutter speed.

From 70mm 1/320 f7.1 ISO 200

From 130mm 1/320 f8 ISO 200

From 300 1/320 f10 ISO200

So basically, this lens wants ample light.

so at 300mm, slowest possible exposure is 1/300

but you simply can't cheat a non IS lens at 100+mm.

Oh, and no need to up the shutter speed to compensate for the crop factor from what I've experienced.

you will have to be further away from the subject with a crop camera than you would with a full-frame camera in order to get the same framing.

Because you are further away, any camera movement results in more shift of the distant subject.

So you would need to adjust this rule of thumb to account for this, and the adjustment should be about the same as the crop factor.

really depends more on subject distance, and how steady your hand is.

I find I really don't have a lot of use for it day to day.
