I need to get something for work. I do a lot a macro type photos for small components. I've always liked my Canon cameras and I think this one with a macro lens would be a nice addition.<ul><li><a href="http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7989901&type=product&productCate goryId=pcmcat99000050010&id=1155069748336">http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7989901&type=product&productCate goryId=pcmcat9

Can't go wrong with the XTi, it's an excellent camera. You can do pretty good macro work also with smaller P&S cameras or maybe the Canon G7 if you want your camera to be compact. But for best image quality (and perhaps also for other shooting purposes) the XTi is a very good choice.

You'll also need a tripod and a good light source (either flash or continuous).
I don't have any dedicated macro lenses for my SLR, so when I need to do any macro type work to document something, I frequently resort to my P&S for those duties, and it does a pretty good job.

image quality is great, for a P&S anyway.

I loved my G1 and I still use my Canon S45 P&S for some quick macro work every now and then. Image quality doesn't match the DSLR IQ but it is very acceptable for many purposes.

They both produce the same magnification factor of 1:1 but you can shoot from further away with the 100mm. This is useful for animal macro photography but the 60mm should be ok for your macro work. You can use both lenses for "normal" photography also.

the 60mm EF-S Macro is a great lens! It's compact, light, built strong, and produces sharp, colorful images. I really love it sadly I don't use it much anymore.
