this came in the mail monday along with some other toys. unfortunately, it's been raining the last few days and tonight i have volleyball, but this weekend i should get a chance to actually take pictures WITH the lens.
sometimes i forget i'm using auto focus.

unfortnately, i still don't have a tripod so neither are as sharp as they could be. oh, and when i first got it i didn't think it was heavy, but definitely makes my camera a lot heavier when it's on. feel like it's going to snap off my 350d sometimes!
mmm.... f2.8....

the lightstand set is real nice. the bracket was shipped with the mounting points reversed so it took me a minute to realize that so i could move the umbrella. the hotshoe plate was also a bit large so i had to put some tape on it to ensure my flash wouldnt fall off. the stand is air-coushined and extends to 8'. the umbrella is satin white so i can shoot through it, but also has a removable black cover in case i want to reflect off it (like in these pics).

so far i love the bag. it is extremely comfortable and has plenty of room for 3 lenses/hoods, two flashes, and all my little knick-knacks. also room outside the camera block for a jacket, lunch, etc.
the only thing i dislike is the waist belt. it would be nice if i could remove it when i'm not using it because it only gets in the way. it's currently stitched into the bag, but i'm thinking of removing the stitches and taking it off. ended up getting it $40 cheaper than anywhere online too which is more of a plus!

one, didn't feel like spending the money, two, didn't think i'd use them both at the same time. i figure i'd use one with the umbrella and the other with a grid or snoot as a hairlight or for the background.

when the white is blown out. With Canon lenses it's usually purple and is generally attributed to sensor bloom.
Sigma lenses seem to produce green outline.
It isn't CA in conventional sense - you can see that BOTH sides have green outline. Classic CA breaks down the spectrum and usually produces green on one side and red/magenta on the other

It used to be 100% attributed to sensor bloom (current spilling into adjacent photocells).
Then someone produced the same exact result on slide film.
Then someone said, that it was produced when the slide film was scanned, and it was the scanner's CCD that produced it.
Then it turned out that the guy saw it before scanning through the loupe on the light table.
Then it could also be the loupe itself...
etc, etc, you get the idea LOL
The good news is that most RAW converters, as well as Photoshop will remove this in a second

Nice bag A2...where did you find it and if you don't mind me asking the price? Could you post a picture of the backside. I have a Dakine backpack which I love...never saw a photo backpack...

it can be taken out and used on it's own or put into any bag really.
