Does anybody have this lens, or at least tried it out?

i have the 50mm f/1.4 and it's a hit in my book.

I can't see how it's worth the price premium over the 1.4. Then again, I don't pretend to be a pro.

then it price isnt really an issue. it will hold is value very well in the second hand market so the real cost of ownership is pretty low.

it's that whole "opportunity cost" thing.

sure, you can buy it and sell it a year later for almost what you paid.... but you're still out a few grand for that year.
