Is it safe to assume that if I buy a lens on eBay, that Canon will honor the US warranty? What about redeeming the rebates? Will an eBay auction receipt of some kind suffice?

Search this forum - I believe I posted it back in January. I doubt they'd accept a rebate for this dealer. You're saving $30 vs buying from B&amp;H and getting the rebate. If it was me - and I like to save as much as I can on everything - I'd buy from B&amp;H for the peace of mind.

very often dealers have aliases on ebay.

For instance, Canon would not have "Flashpoint cameras" on their list, but this is ebay alias of Adorama, which is certainly Canon Authorized dealer.
