should be a great knockaround lens. Anybody else have one? I've loved shooting with my 85mm prime, but it's just too long for street shots, especially with the 1.6x crop.
(I also picked up a set of 1000 t/c sheets for the girlfriend so she'll keep tolerating my lens habit, but don't tell anyone)

I loved it on my full-frame film camera. It's talking awhile to get used to its 'length' on my 30d, though. Really have to rethink my shots.

Worked great. I used it all the time for lower-light portrait-type stuff on my Dig. Rebel. When I got my 20D, I sold the DR to my brother. Shortly thereafter, I saw a really nice used 50/1.4 at a local shop, so I bought that, and gave the 1.8 to my brother for kid pics.
The 1.4 has a nicer build quality, obviously, but the images between the two are pretty much indistinguishable. The 1.8 is a true bargain.

me a lot in using my DSLR. I'm debating on getting another one or the 35mm f/2, I think that's a better FL for me. BTW that thing is buzzy as heck. I had a colapseable rubber hood on mines, couldn't see spending ~$30 on a hood for a $65 lens.

Spent a whole $9.99 to keep her off your back, that's too funny. I just saw the deal on slickdeals.net, better hide that packing slip ;)
