View Full Version : out of curiosity, I priced a 5D and 24-70mm f2.8 L package. YIKES! Zed 2.0 04-15-2006, 08:02 AM Will take quite a bit of saving to afford that sweetness. TristanP 04-15-2006, 09:37 AM Forget saving, buy the L now. You know you want to... :-P Zed 2.0 04-15-2006, 09:47 AM my Sigma 18-50 is almost the equivalent focal length compared to the L on a f/f like the 5D and it's a killer lens for my needs. And, yes I want the 24-70, but I don't want it $1100 worth ;) wnut 04-15-2006, 02:06 PM you know you want it. SpfldS4 04-15-2006, 03:18 PM Step it up and it's remarkable. He was upset about it but what could he do? I compared my 200mm at f/2.8 but told him it's really not a fair comparison because it's a prime. There are pros and cons to owning a zoom or prime...I prefer to hike it to get the shot I need ;-) Nuvolari1 04-15-2006, 08:09 PM kujo 04-15-2006, 10:56 PM He was refering to the Canon 24-70L USM lens. RKA 04-16-2006, 08:16 AM Still too lazy to put it up for sale...so it's been sitting here on a shelf wrapped in plastic...just waiting for you to say "yes please!". Zed 2.0 04-16-2006, 11:04 AM 24mm isn't wide enough for me unless it's on a full frame camera and a 5D isn't in the cards. RKA 04-16-2006, 11:47 AM SpfldS4 04-16-2006, 03:13 PM what I need. Although I would have liked some DoF on the wide end. Oh well, then again I only paid $420 for it new. Nuvolari1 04-16-2006, 10:55 PM Edited to add that I didn't know that Canon had a 5D model as well. |
