For work I'm a Software developer and have my work laptop for that. But at home all I really use my PC is for photos, videos, and Internet access. I think the new iMac w/ Intel chip is right for this and it takes up very little room. Plus I can use Adobe light room and the graphics on that thing would kick ass for post processing. OMG my first Mac, any objections?

Only problem is that photoshop will be kind of sluggish until Adobe releases a universal binary version.

were that a new intel powerbook ran photoshop less quickly than the G4 1.5ghz but more quickly than the 1ghz. So it won't be super fast, but it would also be silly to buy outdated hardware just so pshop will run at full speed for a few months until the UB version is released.

Primarily bought it to use as my photo work machine, but I'm finding that I prefer to use it for pretty much everything. Haven't hit any real "PC-only" roadblocks yet.

comparable in speed because of how fast the new processor is. He said the right move would be is to get the Intel since Adobe will make the binary change and the app will be faster and there will be more software available. He also said he heard rumors that the Intel chip is 64-bit but locked down to 32-bit for now. Anyhow, I going to check the #'s now and probably go back tonight or tomorrow and get the 20".

photos. I'm kind of in a bind right now, luckily I was able to recover all of my data using an external HDD enclosure. So at least I have a 100GB 2.5 inch drive out of this mess :( What is this announcement about...a lower price?

They have $30 off with a new CC and then $150 Rebate. But I have to buy it by Monday! I can't let this pass by or I'll kick myself. The rebate washes the Apple Care plan I was going to get anyways.

You can get the 17" now and get a second monitor if you have to. Amazon seems to always run a rebate. Check dealmac.com before you buy anything.

1GB stick of RAM and I'll be ready. I need to learn this OS, first time on a Mac in years.
